Here I go boasting again.
I have a few regrets in life, most of it with school. I wish I could've gone further.
So you could just imagine how happy I felt when I got the CDRS certification from the mail. So happy that I'm blogging about myself =)
Ian and I was just talking about it two days ago, we've been working on short sales for two years now. It feels like two days.
I thank God for short sales. I've always wanted to be a listing agent, but had a hard time breaking in the game due to my focus on buyers since I started.
We stumbled upon short sales through old clients who were having a hard time paying their mortgage. They asked for help. I didn't know what to do. They say life is a continual changing process, one that I, like many are more than un-willing to make.
But jump, I did.
I started asking questions, at that time there was only one agent in Reno who had enough experience on working on short sales. But she was busy at that time. God bless America's Home Rescue, they showed me the way .
But after a couple of heartbreaking deals, I hit a giant hump.
Last June, I almost gave up doing short sales. I have been working on a listing in Spanish Springs for eight months-- three different buyers, three collapses! All collapsing days before closing.
It was tough. I was computing the numbers, if it will take me eight months to close one deal, my core business will be greatly affected-- which at that time were buyers. I couldn't do this any longer.
But with much prayer and encouragement from my family, I stayed. There was no way I was going to quit now. I'm glad I did.
It has been an incredible journey. I have worked with amazing people who at the thick of their financial problems had the audacity to smile. Many were successful in their short sales, some weren't. But almost all fought.
Most of them, like the author, learned to be stronger, humbler and wiser because of this difficult financial times.
