Once you get to know the market--its ups and downs via median price, supply & demand you will be able to anticipate the direction of the market.
Last week somebody made a comment on my article "ATTENTION HOME BUYERS & SELLERS: HOW TO GET AHEAD NOT BY $4,000 or $40,000 or even $140,000 BUT AS MUCH AS $155,000."
An agent made this comment:
"Hindsight is 20/20, but I think a lot of us - even KNOWING the correction was coming, would have been hard pressed to say by how much. If we knew the answers we wouldn't have to sell real estate for a living...."
He doesn't know what he was talking about.
Hindsight is 20/20 for those who don't take the time to know the market. Ordinary people could be excused, but agents like us shouldn't. Our job is to know what direction the market is headed. Or at the very least make an effort to understand what's happening:

And this is not about who's smarter than who--who's the better agent. This is something we should know. Problem is, most of us agents are more ignorant than the massess. And we are losing the people's trust.
