If you want to avail of this tax credit you have to be in contract by April 30, 2010; to close by June 10, 2010. Today is March 22nd. You have 39 days to find the house that you want and have a signed (by both buyer and seller) contract. It's crunch time! Please don't wait 'till the last minute.
The credit was supposed to end last year but the government decided to extend it; it's likely that they won't extend this anymore. I hope they do, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
