There’s also a condo just outside Somersett for $69,000 at Silver Creek Condo Complex. What are some of Somersett’s best qualities?
The obvious answer would be the Golf Course, or the nine million dollar Club House. But what I think what separates Somersett from other communities, except for Caughlin Ranch, from my experience there is a stronger community bond here compared to other luxury communities. I like that it has 27 miles of hiking and biking trails and that the home owner’s association invests in their summer Farmer’s market (with live bands). I also like how their commercial center, next to the club house, offers a wide variety of specialty shops.
What makes Somersett unique?
Similar to the previous question, number one for me is its proximity to highway 80. It is the first gated community in Reno if you’re coming from Sacramento. It even has its own passageway from the freeway which takes you from the opposite side of Somersett at the Del web village. Second would be the club house. Facility wise, it is the top three club house in Reno. With over 22,000 square feet, $9 million was spent building it around 2002. Here are the amenities of the club house: Great Room, Media Room, Aerobics Studio, Cardio-Weight Studio, Sports Court, Teen Club, Arts and Crafts Studio, Massage Room, Swimming Pools, Tennis Courts, Spas, Tot Lot, Poolside Cabana, Canyon Nine (par-3 golf course.) Lastly, the Somersett Town Square. It is the perfect place to “catch dinner, a glass of wine and has also been home to many wonderful events like the weekly summer Somersett Farmers Market. There are also some wonderful businesses that are at the heart of it all: Whispering Vine Wine and Spirits, Roundabout Market (everyday gourmet), The Bistro, Park Place Cleaners, among others. Somersett, to me, is for the family who enjoys the outdoors and amenities for all ages.
P.S -- Actually, the number one attraction of Somersett is the 98-ft. waterslide! They have the best swimming pool in Reno (outside Wild Island, of course).
What is the Somersett Country Club like?
The 24,000 square foot interior offers a beautiful great room, an indoor sports court, an aerobic studio, cardio-weight studio, massage room and locker rooms with sauna. Families have access to a kid’s club, teen club, and an arts and crafts studio. The outdoor amenities include two pools (one with a 98-ft. waterslide), two spas, fire pit, two tennis courts and a cabana snack bar. The Canyon Nine 3-par golf course is also complete and open to all Somersett residents. The Somersett East Park across from the Town Center is now also open as are the 27 miles of hiking and biking trails
How many golf courses are there in Somersett?
Two. 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Kite. And a nine-hole, par-3 golf course great for beginners.
Do you need a golf membership to play in the 18-hole, Tom Kite course?
