If you like Reno but yearn for a small town feel, Sparks is your place. And the best thing about Sparks? Everything we have in Reno, they also have. I used to dread driving to some residential areas in Sparks, especially in Spanish Springs (a sub community of Sparks); some parts of Sparks are 15 minutes from the main freeway. But due to Sparks real estate's rapid expansion, driving to Reno is now just an option. They have shopping malls (Legends), Costo, Walmart, shopping centers, restaurants etc. but not at the expense of the Sparks Hometown feel. They have managed to keep the charm.
Sparks real estate supply and demand:
As median price continues to drop, more and more people (mostly locals) can now afford to buy a house at Sparks. Demand has been eating up supply. I had a client in March who I had hard time finding a nice house below $150,000.
